Hello Gang,

I am looking into setting up an eastern mono-ski clinic. It would be great to make this an annual event. This will be an intermediate to advanced, all mountain clinic. The goal is to improve skiing skills on all conditions and learn some new skills. Improving basic skills, then moving those skills into various terrain. Skiing bumps, carving, terrain park, and all mountain freestyle. The clinic will be held at Hunter Mountain NY. I am working on a package for accessible lodging, lift and maybe even lunch. But I need an idea of how many might want to attend. Please let me know if you are interested ASAP!.
Please contact me by email with your contact information at sitskitom@hotmail.com Or call me at 908-313-5590. Thanks Tom

The season is winding down, Too bad, it seems like it just got started. ASF winter program will close on the 3-11. There will be plenty of skiing into April If the weather holds up and I am still wishing for another DUMP! We will see what old man winter has left. I skied some really good skis. The Volkl Racetiger RC 168cm is on the money. It’s a great carving ski, strong, fast edge to edge, a lot of fun. The Volkl AC4 170cm is big fat beefy go anywhere do anything anytime. I like it! The Volkl Karma 169cm twin tip is another big fat beefy go anywhere do anything ski. You can read more about these skis HERE

Heads up all Revolution Pro Comp skiers. Once I learned how forgiving the RPC suspension is I started taking bigger and bigger jumps. I bottomed out the shock and bent my shock bolt. I went up to a heaver shock spring than bent it again but not as bad. I wend up to a heaver spring 350 lbs long spring and 500lbs short spring on a dual spring setup with my works performance shock. I have not bent a bolt in over two years and went on to take some of the biggest air I ever did as you can see here. You should never bottom out your shock if so something is not set right. The reason I tell you this is because I have met some skiers who think they have “out grown” the RPC because they have bent their shock bolt. Well maybe you have grown in weight and put on a few pounds. Or just went huge on a jump with a stock spring. It’s not the mono-ski. Freedom Factory stock spring is a 235 lbs spring. If you are over 160lbs and ski hard and like to take air this spring is not going to cut it. You need to beef up your suspension. It is easy and cheap. A new heaver spring is about $40 and will keep you from other problems. The Revolution is a great mono-ski, strong and reliably but every skier is different. Know your equipment, your weight, your shock and it’s limit. Beef up your suspension and you will get a smoother ride and softer landings. Be safe!

Another Year 2007 is here! It has been a rough start here in the east and all over the country for that matter. Warm weather and no snow. I was injured just before the holidays and took a few weeks off due to a torn clavicle. But, I have bounced back had a few great lessons to teach, worked with the troops back from Iraq. There is a mono camp at Spirit Mountain – Duluth MN see here

It's getting closer, just when I thought we would get an early start on the season The weather turns tropical in the north east with warm temps and rain. A few years age that would have bothered me. But now, it’s all good. More time to get equipment ready and mount up some skis for you guys.
So here are a few things I have to offer for now. These are some skis with pinned binding. picture Here
These will plug right onto an RPC. But can be adjusted to fit most other mono-boots.

Atomic ETL 159cm used in great shape $160 shipped
Elan Mantis M8 168cm used in great shape $160 shipped
Rossignol Bode Miller 167cm used in great shape $160 shipped

Tired of carrying your mono around?
Get a mono-mover. The ski and binding will vary But the wheels will get you through most anything.
Picture Here $105.00 shipped

It's that time of year and we're planning our annual "Rise to the Challenge" - Adaptive Skiing Event in Ellicottville, NY. Saturday February 10, 2007 marks our day. The past 2 years have brought together athletes from ski areas in Canada and US as well as adaptive organizations for a great turnout. The race itself consists of 4 levels, based on "Personal Best": Novice 1, Novice 2, Intermediate and Advance. More info .pdf Here

Hey Gang, I hope all is well and you are having a great season. For some of us it’s the off season, but for those of you south of the equator Ski some turns for me. Life gets complicated sometimes and busy. Between teaching at Windham and a new job (paid) as an ambassador at Hunter My season was pretty full and not much time to post. But you knew that was coming. Anyway, I have some equipment for sale. Two Ti Grove mono-skis a few Shadows. Let me know if you are looking for a mono-ski and I will give you more details.
Email: sitski@isp.com or 908-313-5590

Stay cool, the days get shorter from here and before you know it things will cool off.

It’s not often, but every once in a while I get to ski with one of you, another mono-skier I meet through this web site. I was fortunate to end January 2006 skiing with Brandi and her step dad Skeeter. Brandi and I have been in contact through the sitski site for a few years now. She is from MD but teaches and ski out of Snowshoe WV. They are lucky to have her. She is an excellent teacher and a awesome monoskier. She is light on her outriggers and so smooth through the terrain and condition changes. Plus it's a rare treat to see long beautiful blonde hair flowing out from under the helmet on a monoskier who is ripping down the mountain. Brandi has no problem with speed and that is fine by me. She mentioned her confidence was not real high when it came to the steeps and bumps. I must have missed something because she tore up two of the steepest double blacks Windham has to offer with no problem. I understand what she means and where she is coming from though. Like most of us, we are our worst critic. But Brandi has got it going on in more ways then just skiing. I feel totally privileged to have been able to rip it up with the hottest sitski chick on the east coast. Let’s do it again Brandi! Brandi wrote about the experience she and I had skiing together. Please check out her article here.
