Heads up all Revolution Pro Comp skiers.
Once I learned how forgiving the RPC suspension is I started taking bigger and bigger jumps. I bottomed out the shock and bent my shock bolt. I went up to a heaver shock spring than bent it again but not as bad. I wend up to a heaver spring 350 lbs long spring and 500lbs short spring on a dual spring setup with my works performance shock. I have not bent a bolt in over two years and went on to take some of the biggest air I ever did as you can see here. You should never bottom out your shock if so something is not set right. The reason I tell you this is because I have met some skiers who think they have “out grown” the RPC because they have bent their shock bolt. Well maybe you have grown in weight and put on a few pounds. Or just went huge on a jump with a stock spring. It’s not the mono-ski. Freedom Factory stock spring is a 235 lbs spring. If you are over 160lbs and ski hard and like to take air this spring is not going to cut it. You need to beef up your suspension. It is easy and cheap. A new heaver spring is about $40 and will keep you from other problems. The Revolution is a great mono-ski, strong and reliably but every skier is different. Know your equipment, your weight, your shock and it’s limit.
Beef up your suspension and you will get a smoother ride and softer landings. Be safe!
